PLEIN-AIR

An unusual plein-air was recently organized by the artist Garikovich Leha near the Tretyakov Art Gallery in the central part of Moscow. He and other artists gathered there and began to paint. However, they painted not architectural buildings or passers-by but their impressions and emotions of the sunlit Lavrushinsky lane where the gallery is situated. The canvasses were filled with abstract milti-coloured figures, pastel sketches and colourful spots.

The people who took part in this action had no provocative aims. They only wanted to have a good time and create good mood among the artists and passers-by. But it did not remain unnoticed. Passers-by gathered from all sides. They were given large sheets, brushes and paints. The square in front of the Tretyakov Art Gallery was soon filled with people who were painting.

Those who were in Lavrushinsky lane on that day will be in good spirits for a long time. The artists promised to organize such actions regularly, and we are looking forward to taking part in them.
